Manufacturing Area Manager - Job Description
The Manufacturing Area Manager is responsible for coordinating team leaders and their respective teams within the department to ensure the timely completion of work orders in alignment with cost targets, specifications, and quality standards outlined in the production plan. This role involves the effective utilization of human resources, equipment, and IT systems allocated to the department.
Responsibilities
* Operational Management
o Coordinate activity scheduling, cost control, and resource allocation across departmental teams.
o Ensure the timely supply of materials through collaboration with the Materials Management unit.
o Supervise and control logistics operations.
o Utilize SAP functions related to production processes.
o Organize departmental work efficiently, proposing changes to shifts or task distribution as needed to meet objectives.
o Report requirements for departmental tools and equipment, oversee their maintenance, and ensure proper usage.
o Analyze critical factors and identify solutions for continuous improvement.
o Monitor production progress within the department, supported by team leaders.
* Personnel Management
o Manage contractual and legal aspects concerning the working hours of departmental personnel, including holidays, leave, and overtime.
o Contribute to the training and development of department staff.
o Engage personnel by providing information and handling feedback.
o Manage the 'OPERA' Plan: set objectives, monitor progress, assess results, and implement initiatives.
o Ensure adherence to company regulations and disciplinary procedures, and address internal conflicts.
o Assess and manage anomalies in goods received and dispatched.
o Control the use of tools, equipment, and documentation within the workshop.
* Technical Responsibilities
o Communicate major technical issues clearly and document them for relevant departments (e.g., Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Control), including:
+ Incomplete or unclear documentation.
+ Errors in requirement determination.
+ Missing or inadequate tools and equipment.
* Quality Assurance
o Address Foreign Object Debris (FOD) issues and inform team leaders when necessary.
o Support team leaders in overseeing the correct usage and completion of working documents (assembly and control reports, schedules, fault lists).
o Maintain knowledge of key quality documents (e.g., Manufacturing Data Reports).
o Analyze departmental quality indicators, understand their implications, and propose improvement actions.
* Workplace Safety and Accident Prevention
o Supervise the implementation of accident prevention regulations.
o Ensure compliance with fire prevention protocols within the plant.
o Monitor risks associated with chemical materials.
o Promote accident prevention and reduction strategies.
o Train and update team members on safety regulations.
Qualifications
* Diploma or professional qualification in a technical specialization.
