Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world, and we’ve designed the system with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers, from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.The Leo Electronic Supply Chain team is looking for a global category sourcing leader to support business and engineering stakeholders in selecting, developing and managing business relationships with critical technology and service suppliers, and others as needed to execute on Leo objectives.Key job responsibilitiesDrive hardware delivery through the product life cycle from requirements development to on-dock (on time at the right quality and cost)Analyze industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify and execute projects/opportunities to reduce cost, minimize risk, protect continuity of supply, and exploit industry developments that benefit Amazon’s customersWork with a range of stakeholders including business leaders, engineering leaders, legal, program management, and supply chain to negotiate a variety of agreements and contracts including term sheets, MOUs, NDAs, SOWs, development agreements, component purchase agreements and othersInfluence suppliers' manufacturing processes, technology decisions, and policies in ways that are mutually beneficial and sustainable for both organizationsPrioritize projects and activities to deliver maximum cost reductions and reliable supplyManage cross-functional projects against plans and objectives to meet commitments and goalsDrive financial modeling of large and complex dealsEvaluate and monitor critical supplier performance, including financial health, quality, on-time delivery, and costEnsure orders are released and on schedule to meet needs of the production systemMentor junior sourcing employees on contract negotiation and vendor managementEffectively lead cross-functional meetings with clear document writing, agenda creation, note capture and follow-up activity coordinationProactively identify and mitigate risks to the supply chainAbout the teamHere at Amazon, we embrace our differences. We need people who want to join an ambitious program that continues to push the state of the art in space based systems design and wireless systems.Basic Qualifications5+ years of procurement, supply chain, inventory management, contract management, lease administration or operations experience5+ years of relevant strategic sourcing including vendor negotiations, global contract management, process improvement, operational and financial analysis experienceBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related technical fieldExperience with data analysis tools such as Advanced Excel, SQL, Tableau, PythonExperience in global supply chain management, managing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced consumer electronics product companyPreferred Qualifications4+ years of program, project, product management, or leading a product implementation process experienceMaster’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related fieldExperience in program, project, product management, or leading a product implementation processExperience in data centers, infrastructure service providers, or related technology companiesAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $71,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $153,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
