Category Manager (Facilities & Maintenance)

About the Role :
The Category Manager role is a key position within the EMEA Product & Supplier Management organization, responsible for developing the category strategy and collaborating with group, regional, and local stakeholders to execute growth plans, delivering targeted profitable growth, customer acquisition, and ROI.
The Category Manager will focus on technology and suppliers, aiming to deliver a best-in-class product offering by defining leading brands, latest products, and innovative technologies to drive growth across EMEA. They will also manage the supplier and product portfolio, including the entire product lifecycle.
Managing strategic suppliers, they are accountable for supplier management and performance, negotiating contracts and improving commercial terms while building collaborative relationships internally and externally to support growth.
Responsibilities and Deliverables :
1. Develop and execute category/technology strategy, governance, and planning.
2. Create and implement supplier business plans aligned with the category strategy.
3. Utilize digital data and insights to inform product ranging decisions, identify opportunities, and enhance portfolio and supplier performance.
4. Manage supplier relationships to support growth objectives.
5. Negotiate effectively to maximize profit.
6. Manage costs and maintain pricing strategies.
7. Drive new product introductions (NPI) and portfolio development to expand and strengthen the product range.
8. Communicate and collaborate with relevant stakeholders across the group.
9. Develop a customer-focused, competitive category offer aligned with overall strategy.
10. Support the delivery of new brands and manage product lifecycle including discontinuations and revenue protection.
11. Support NPI delivery through supplier data acquisition and product content management.
12. Achieve KPIs related to supplier and technology growth, revenue, margin, ROI, customer acquisition, product sales, and digital performance.
13. Engage in negotiations that add commercial value.
14. Build strong relationships with suppliers, functions, and markets.
15. Collaborate with the private label team (RS Pro) for optimized range offerings.
16. Influence customer satisfaction scores like NES and NPS.
Experience we are looking for :
* Strong commercial acumen and experience in a commercial environment.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Proficiency in data analysis and deriving insights from large datasets.
* Experience in supplier relationship management.
* Knowledge of data analytics, online trading, and digital tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, PowerBI, Adobe Analytics).
