Overview Description: Do you aim to have a dynamic impact on the world? Are you up for creating solutions and solving tomorrow’s problems today? Then we have the opportunity for you. We are hiring an ICQA Area Manager to be part of our fulfillment center Inventory Control and Quality Assurance (ICQA) team. Our fulfillment centers (FC) sit at the heart of Amazon’s rapidly growing operations network: they manage fast-moving inventory, stow deliveries, pick products, package them, and ship them out. These centers are fast-paced and high-reward environments where adherence to policies and procedures is key. We need a leader who ensures reliable delivery to customers while guiding teams to uphold customer obsession. Responsibilities Lead and supervise a team of hourly Associates (including Team Leads and Data Analysts) assigned to inventory control, quality assurance, and problem-solving operations within the fulfillment center. Support safety programs and compliance to ensure a safe work environment for all associates; collaborate with Operations and other Support teams to establish, influence, and adhere to policies and procedures. Coordinate inventory control, quality assurance, and problem-solving operations in alignment with network strategies, ensuring SOX compliance and consistency. Conduct shift planning and forecasting; assign and direct work; oversee projects to streamline processes, increase quality, and optimize productivity. Ensure KPIs are reviewed daily, weekly, or monthly and perform quality analysis on any behaviors or processes that could impact inventory integrity and customer experience. Gain expertise in key fulfillment center process paths and their exception handling to drive continuous improvement alongside the operations management team. Assist in interviewing and training fulfillment center managers and associates, developing talent and hiring the next generation of leaders. A day in the life You’ll work shifts at one of our fulfillment centers, overseeing inventory control, quality assurance, and problem-solving operations. Your day typically starts with a team huddle to review previous shift performance, set daily goals, and address ongoing issues. Throughout your shift you will conduct inventory discrepancy analyses, oversee the resolution of receiving issues, and coach team members on accuracy improvement. You’ll regularly analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement, collaborating with FC operations or central teams (Catalogue, Procurement, Supply Chain, Process Engineering, Loss Prevention, and Program Management). You’ll make quick, informed decisions to keep operations running smoothly. You’ll be on the floor observing processes, coaching team members, and ensuring safety standards. You’ll devote time to developing your team, providing feedback, and identifying training needs. By shift end, you’ll prepare a handover for the next shift, summarizing key events, ongoing issues, and priorities, contributing to inventory accuracy and customer satisfaction through efficient fulfillment operations. About The Team The EU ICQA mission is to prevent and remove customer-facing defects with the goal of providing world-class service to customers at the lowest possible cost. The ICQA vision is to exceed customer expectations (buyers and sellers) by driving defect-free order fulfillment through quality standards in FC processes (receive, stow, count, pick, pack & ship) up to sellers and customers. We lead with empathy to create a safer, more productive, higher-performing, and more diverse work environment. We empower and support team members to grow and achieve their aspirations. Basic Qualifications A degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience in operations management. Relevant experience in performing data analysis and understanding data sets and tools. Proficient in the local language and English, both spoken and written. Advanced MS Office suite user, especially Excel. Previous experience leading teams. Preferred Qualifications Preferred qualifications are not required to apply for a position at Amazon. If you have all the basic qualifications above, we would love to hear from you.
