Key Account Manager – Rare Hematology (Lombardia & Emilia‑Romagna)

Implement the Rare Business Unit plan within your territory, in line with Business Unit objectives, guidelines and local regulations.


Responsibilities

* Deeply understand therapeutic areas, strengths and weaknesses of competing products, and gain insights into field and centers of expertise.
* Schedule business activities consistently with BU objectives, preparing and scheduling interviews/meetings and recording information to improve sales effectiveness.
* Provide daily/monthly reports to the line manager regarding performance and changes, and negotiate periodically the action plan to drive BU results.
* Implement promotional activities for the company’s products, including projects, events, conferences, within budget constraints.
* Develop relationships and partnerships with Key Opinion Leaders at local and domestic level to ensure appropriate representation and acquire relevant product data and market information.
* Develop, sustain, and grow highly effective working relationships with key medical institutions, societies, and academia.
* Identify, develop and foster professional long‑lasting peer‑to‑peer relationships with key physicians, KOLs, and academic centers, ensuring ethical and high‑level scientific exchange.
* Comply with the company’s Compliance Guidelines, Code of Conduct and Promotional Practices, and abide by Takeda’s policies.
* Serve as liaison to the Rare Diseases team, providing marketplace intelligence/insights that influence strategic objectives and promotional strategy.
* Define account plans with line manager, translating analysis to strategy to tactics, adjusting tactics to account needs, using intelligence to segment and target, setting clear priorities and SMART goals.
* Drive scientific engagement with healthcare professionals through traditional and alternative channels.


Education & Experience

* Scientific university degree as per art. 122 of D.Lgs. 219/2006 or prior employment as Medical Representative before 6 July 2006.
* Experience in rare hematology (preferred) or other rare diseases or complex markets (hospital or ultra‑specialty).
* Solid experience promoting pharmaceutical products requiring clinical explanation and proven track record.
* Previous experience in rare diseases (hematology or haemophilia) or complex settings; knowledge of local KOLs preferred.


Skills & Competencies

* Good written and spoken English (B2 min).
* Concise verbal and written communication.
* Excellent presentation skills, including PowerPoint.
* Strong thirst for technical, clinical, medical, and scientific knowledge; quick assimilation and clear presentation.
* In‑depth disease knowledge based on international guidelines and local protocols.
* Digital fluency.
* Project planning and control using core principles and tools.
* Adaptability to change.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge of Italian healthcare system.
* Independent working style; motivated by autonomy.
* Highest ethical standards.
* Passionate and self‑confident.


Additional Digital & AI Competencies

* Leverage AI tools for customer engagement and data analysis efficiency.
* Comfort with emerging technologies and digital tools.
* Experience with AI‑enabled forecasting and segmentation tools such as TODAI and next‑best‑action systems.
* Use digital platforms for personalized training and continuous learning.
* Familiarity with CRM workflows and automation tools.
* Openness to integrating AI agents for routine tasks while maintaining human‑centric decision‑making.


Physical Demands & Travel

* Ability to drive or fly to meetings, audits, and training.
* Willingness to travel; valid clean driver’s license required.


Residency

Lombardia (preferred Milan) or Emilia‑Romagna (Parma, Piacenza, Reggio Emilia).


Contract & Work Type

Permanent; Employee; Full time.


Location

Rome, Italy – (Note: primary territories listed above; headquarters in Rome).


AI Integration Opportunities

Data analysis, segmentation, forecasting, and CRM workflow management can be partially automated by AI agents. Tools such as TODAI, Asset Wizard, and digital HR partners enhance efficiency, but human judgment remains essential.
