Together, we are embarking on a journey where each and every one of us, individually and collectively, welcomes and celebrates individual differences.: This position reports to: Global Product Manager Director Your responsibilities: - Ensures that ABB has a full understanding of market requirements and can translate these into effective products and service offerings. Prepares various analyses by market, product, and competitors. Conducts valuations of market size and trends, conducts competitor analyses including identification of product/system/service gaps and evaluates ABB position. - Supports the product lifecycle activities from introduction to product obsoleting. Maintains databases, product datasheets, cross references. Reviews periodically the results of the product lines and proposes solutions for optimizing gross margin and service to the customer. - Proposes new product development or product enhancements to offer suitable and unique solutions to customer needs and in so doing collects and analyses standards, market requirements, customer needs and values as an input for producing a product roadmap. From identified opportunities, supports the Global Product Manager in creating the business case for product development projects. - Facilitates information transfer between customers, product management and R&D teams in the development of correct solution. Monitors major warranty cases and quality cost drivers for assigned products and ensure effective resolution. - Manages technical specifications of assigned products and supports in developing compelling business case for product development, including cost streamlining and pricing setup. - Creates and delivers product training to internal teams and external customers. - Collaborates to define marketing plans to promote sales activities. Assists in the creation and distribution of materials and key message information. Contributes to the preparation and maintenance of marketing tools to support the business and the sales organizations, for the existing products and in the launch and introduction of new products. - Prepares and follows up detailed planning for assignments in the product responsibilities, coordinate actions between different functions, such as product management, engineering, R&D, operations, supply chain, quality and marketing to ensure projects are delivered within the time frame established. Your background: - Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or equivalent qualification. - Experience with electrical installation solutions or similar industrial products would be an asset. - Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and ERP (SAP). - Willingness to travel (30% of time, mainly in Italy and EU markets). - Fluency in English both written and verbal. - Presentation and communication skills to different levels of stakeholders. - Project management skills, ability to prioritize activities and respect deadlines. Business acumen, able to work independently under own initiative. - A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach, with strong communication and relationship building skills with colleagues of other departments.
