Internship Responsibilities and Benefits at WKMT
Training on Vicente Scaramuzza piano technique through weekly sessions with Mtro. Juan Rezzuto. Experience in Scaramuzza Technique is a significant advantage.
Training on British Piano Pedagogy and official syllabuses provided by WKMT staff during weekly one-hour group meetings.
One-to-one piano lessons with Juan Rezzuto upon request and mutual agreement.
The intern will deliver up to 39 hours of tuition weekly to students of all ages and levels at WKMT Kensington, WKMT Camberwell, and/or students’ homes, as directed by WKMT staff.
Typically, each teacher teaches around 30-33 hours per week, although this may vary seasonally.
WKMT may offer accommodation options for interns living nearby, at £550/month, including bills and a piano.
Teaching one-to-one piano and keyboard lessons tailored to student needs and study plans.
Preparing students for performances, exams, auditions, festivals, and gigs; maintaining accurate student development records.
Engaging in activities such as performances and recordings.
Performing basic office tasks.
Developing effective teaching methods to retain students, including good communication, structure, and motivation.
Supporting students in using internet resources.
Hosting students with high standards of hospitality, including offering drinks and maintaining courtesy and presentation standards.
Collaborating with WKMT’s SEO and marketing efforts, including social media, backlinking, article and video production, keyword research, and competitor analysis.
Role Requirements
Teaching experience is preferred but not mandatory; a training program is available, and attendance is granted after probation.
Adherence to health and safety standards and child protection legislation.
Proven artistic excellence or decency in recordings, performances, or publications.
Important Notes
Paid holidays are recommended during specific periods: 25th July to 1st September, and 18th December to 5th January. Some holidays may be exchanged for concert preparation days.
Weekly day off to be agreed upon, excluding Saturdays and Sundays.
Teaching hours are unevenly distributed; scheduling may vary, but practice space is generally available.
Student schedules (rotas) are sent a day in advance, with possible last-minute changes or bookings.
In case of sick leave, other team members will cover classes, coordinated by the staff manager.
Professional presentation and attire are expected from all teachers.
SEO, Social Media, and Marketing
Interns are trained to produce promotional material, including:
Social media management (Facebook, Instagram)
Backlinking strategies
Content creation (articles, videos)
Keyword research and competitor analysis
Citation audits and submissions
Additional internet promotion activities
SEO duties will be tailored to fit within interns’ schedules, and compliance is required.
