Job Description
Assure the design and implementation of the Physical Security System (CCTV, Access Control System, Intrusion Detection System, Physical Security Integrated Management System, Video Analytics) in order to achieve the required time, quality and cost benchmarks for tender and project contracts.
Accountabilities
Analyze customer Physical Security system specifications, decomposing the statements within such specifications into requirements.
Identify gaps between customer requirements and company products.
Create requirement documents, including high level design documents, interface control design documents, and requirements traceability documents.
Identify and resolve Physical Security interfaces.
Prepare preliminary design, detail design and installation design.
Serve as the primary technical interface to the customer throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Interface with internal customers (project managers, construction managers, project engineers, application engineers) and external stakeholders (customers, contractors, local authorities, external assessor) to ensure consistent communication.
Develop and execute commissioning plans, including resourcing, logistics, and scheduling. Onsite lead for commissioning and acceptance testing.
Coordinate work sequences, schedules, resources and punch list items.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define and execute testing protocols to achieve commercial operation based on contractual requirements.
Follow up of the Sub‑Contractors.
Oversee commissioning and acceptance testing of the entire plant safely.
Provide local/remote technical support and troubleshooting during commissioning and operation as needed.
Develop customer training and handoff material for internal and external O&M; teams and a train‑the‑trainer program to enable safe operations.
Create professional commissioning and testing reports for internal stakeholders and external customers.
Drive continuous improvement by capturing technical problem‑solving knowledge for other organisations.
Own administrative responsibilities including service reports, issue logging/tracking, job safety analysis, and quality compliance.
Adapt to different cultures and international environments, establishing relationships that create business vantaggi.
Act with awareness of the impacts of own work on the whole company system and the economic consequences on client and organisational perspectives; propose simple and efficient solutions to meet customer needs.
Required Skills / Knowledge
Knowledge and understanding of current CCTV technology, including interpretation of user requirements, specification of CCTV cameras, PTZ solutions, encoding/decoding and compression protocols, video data interfacing/transmissions, mobile and central video recorders, operator control solutions, display panels, video analysis, integration with Physical Security Management System.
Knowledge of protection of personnel, hardware, programmes, networks, and data from physical circumstances that could cause serious loss or damage to a transportation system (fire, natural disasters, vandalism).
Knowledge and understanding of Intrusion and Access Control Systems, perimeter intrusion detection systems, integration with Fire Detection Systems or SCADA, user access permission configuration, biometric identification.
Design and integration of CCTV, ACS, IDS and PSIM subsystems in a Railway environment.
Knowledge of standards and norms related to Physical Security systems.
Perform commissioning and testing.
Conduct site surveys and analysis.
Physical Security system troubleshooting.
Basic knowledge of wiring, connectivity, cabinets, cable paths, and connections to Civil Works.
Basic knowledge of Railway Signalling and Railway Engineering (electric traction, stray currents, remote control).
Desired Skills / Knowledge
Basic knowledge of communication protocols (Ethernet, TCP/IP, Modbus).
Basic knowledge of Safety Integrity Level standards (hardware and software).
Basic knowledge of SCADA systems.
Basic knowledge of maintenance principles, database, protocols for data transfer and collection, configuration of maintenance assets, work orders, warehouse management and spare parts.
Basic knowledge of Maintenance Management Systems in railways and mass transit.
Basic knowledge of Axis cameras, VMS and ACS devices.
Basic knowledge of Bosch cameras, VMS and ACS devices.
Basic knowledge of Genetec Security Center.
Basic knowledge of Milestone VMS.
Education / Qualifications
Master’s degree in Electronic, Electrical Engineering or Computer / Information Science.
Minimum 5 years of Physical Security System Engineering expertise.
Railway experience preferred; other large‑scale projects (Oil & Gas, power, airports) also considered.
Languages: Italian (fluent), English (fluent).
