At DroneShield, employees work at the leading edge of counter‑drone innovation, helping to address real‑world security challenges as drone threats continue to evolve globally. /p pWith one of the largest listed defence company market capitalisations in Australia, now part of the ASX200 index, DroneShield is experiencing a period of hypergrowth. Revenue has surged from A$57 million in 2024 to over A$217 million in 2025, representing growth of more than 400% year‑on‑year, with record profitability and cashflow. The total addressable global market for counter‑drone is assessed at approximately $100 billion, and is currently at the nascent stage with much of the growth still to come, with DroneShield well positioned as a global market leader, and the only public listed pure‑play business in this sector. /p pThe company has grown from 11 employees in 2017 to over 450 staff globally today, and is on track to reach around 550 by the end of 2026. This expansion includes investment of over A$50 million annually in RD, a global pipeline exceeding A$2.5 billion, and continuous scaling of production capacity to meet accelerating demand. /p pDroneShield’s European operations are anchored in Amsterdam, serving as a strategic hub supporting customers across the EU and broader region. The Amsterdam office plays a key role in strengthening regional partnerships, supporting customer engagements, and advancing DroneShield’s presence across European defence, security, and critical infrastructure markets. As demand for counter‑drone capabilities continues to grow across Europe, the office supports localised engagement while contributing to the company’s broader global strategy. /p h3About The Role /h3 pDroneShield is seeking a bBusiness Development Manager (BDM) /b to support and accelerate revenue growth across bItaly and surrounding regions /b. This role represents a key commercial position that bridges inside sales execution and regional business development ownership. /p pReporting to the bChief Commercial Officer based in Amsterdam /b, the BDM will work closely with senior commercial leadership, Field Service Engineers, and regularly collaborate with the bAmsterdam office /b. The role is ideal for someone ready to step beyond pure inside sales into a broader, externally focused position, while still remaining highly hands‑on. /p pThis is a role within a fast‑scaling, technically complex business. The successful candidate will combine structured lead qualification, partner support, and opportunity management with increasing responsibility for account development, distributor engagement, and regional growth initiatives. While no formal engineering background is required, the role involves learning and working closely with sophisticated RF, sensor, and electronics‑based systems. /p pA competitive remuneration package is offered, aligned with experience and performance. /p h3Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations /h3 ul liSupport and execute Italy business development and go‑to‑market initiatives /li liCreate, prioritise, and maintain strategic target account lists across the region /li liQualify inbound and outbound leads, developing a strong understanding of customer needs and pain points /li liConduct research into prospective customers, partners, and market segments /li liEngage in high‑quality commercial conversations with government, defence, and enterprise stakeholders /li liWork with Field Service Engineers and regional teams to coordinate meetings, demonstrations, and site visits /li liMaintain active engagement with prospects /li liGenerate quotes and support opportunity progression through the sales pipeline /li liAssist with distributor and end‑customer training on DroneShield products /li liRepresent DroneShield at regional marketing events, exhibitions, and industry conferences when required /li liContribute to product documentation, manuals, and Standard Operating Procedures /li liAct as a reliable interface between customers, partners, and internal stakeholders /li /ul h3Qualifications, Experience and Skills /h3 ul liTypically 3–7 years’ experience in sales, business development, or a commercial role /li liDefence, security, or government sector exposure is well regarded but not mandatory /li liExperience working with distributors, resellers, or system integrators is highly valued /li liTechnical degree is advantageous; alternatively, demonstrated ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts /li liProven ability to qualify opportunities and support deals through the sales lifecycle /li liStrong written and verbal communication skills /li liAbility to work autonomously while collaborating across a geographically distributed team /li liMotivated self‑starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability /li liHigh attention to detail and strong organisational skills /li liCreative, lateral thinker comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, evolving environment /li /ul pNote for recruitment agencies: We do not accept unsolicited candidates from external recruiters unless specifically instructed. /p /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
