Join our global team and help us make great cinema accessible to everyone, everywhere. /ppbAbout the role /b /ppWe’re looking for a Head of Finance to join our newly established MUBI Italia office in Rome. As the first Finance hire in the region, you'll be responsible for building local finance operations from the ground up. You’ll lead accounting, tax, planning, and compliance activity, while also acting as a strategic partner to the local Managing Director in Rome and wider business. /ppYou’ll report to our Director of Accounting and Reporting in London, working closely with both the global team and Rome-based colleagues. From supporting theatrical releases to rolling out our finance systems in Italy, this is a unique opportunity to shape the financial foundation of a growing business at the heart of cinema culture. /ppbWhat You’ll Do /b /ppManage local accounting processes and prepare monthly reports and annual statutory accounts in line with Italian regulations. /ppCoordinate day-to-day finance operations — including payables, receivables, payroll, and treasury — with support from the team and local external partners. /ppPartner with the MD to support planning and budgeting for theatrical releases, funding applications, and wider operations. /ppLead the Italian budget and forecast process, and deliver clear monthly variance analysis. /ppOwn tax compliance and oversee relationships with consultants, auditors, and local authorities. /ppEnsure smooth day-to-day operations and compliance with local regulations. /ppRepresent MUBI Italia in finance-related discussions with auditors, advisors, banks, and regulatory bodies. /ppLead the implementation and localisation of NetSuite in Italy, in line with global system strategy. /ppbWhat You’ll Bring /b /ppA degree in Economics, Finance or a recognised accountancy qualification (e.g. CPA, ACA / ACCA / CIMA, Dottore Commercialista). /pp7+ years of finance experience, ideally in international environments — media, entertainment, or distribution experience is a bonus. /ppStrong knowledge of Italian accounting and tax regulations, and the confidence to improve or challenge processes when needed. /ppFluency in English (written and spoken) — daily collaboration with UK and US teams is part of the job. /ppAdvanced Excel or Google Sheets skills — ideally with experience in Power Query, BigQuery, array formulas, or 3-statement modelling. /ppbExperience with NetSuite is a bonus. /b /ppIf you’re excited to shape the future of Finance in a company that champions great cinema — we’d love to hear from you. /ppWe want to make cinema accessible to everyone.
