Job Description Scope of Position To develop the air product in the marketplace focusing on Operations, Finances, Sales, People, Systems, and Culture, in line with company policies and procedures. Major Duties and Responsibilities Operations Create and maintain an effective department organization chart for flexibility and growth. Prepare, execute, monitor, and update the business plan regularly. Monitor and improve key productivity indicators such as Shipments Per Desk (SPD), Revenue Per Desk (RPD), Expense Per Desk (EPD), Revenue Per Shipment (RPS), and others. Ensure compliance with internal policies, operational standards, and external regulations. Map and improve department process flows for efficiency and customer service. Document and update customer standard operating procedures. Utilize system reports effectively to manage operations. Build and maintain vendor relationships, focusing on cost reduction and service quality. Evaluate vendors periodically and implement improvements. Stay informed on industry trends through journals and events. Finances Assist in preparing the annual department budget. Review financial and productivity results monthly with the District Manager. Focus on improving freight yields and maintaining accounts receivable within 30 days. Manage vendor payments and intercompany discrepancies. Review contracts before signing and follow company procedures for capital expenditures. Monitor revenue distribution and work towards a balanced customer base. Sales / Retention Develop business actively through sales and retention efforts. Complete and document sales/retention calls weekly. Conduct customer reviews and provide pricing and routing solutions. Respond timely to proposals and support new business transitions. People Identify, develop, and mentor your team members. Participate in staff appraisals and ensure clear job descriptions and development plans. Conduct regular interviews and team meetings. Review goals and business plans with staff for alignment and accountability. Ensure staff meet training standards and participate in leadership development. Systems Support system improvements and environment within your department. Suggest and implement process enhancements. Qualifications 4 years of industry-specific qualification (country dependent). Proven leadership and management experience. Preferred: Graduate of Iata/Fiata Introductory Course. Strong market and product knowledge. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and computer skills (Excel, Word).
