On behalf of a well-established Italian food manufacturing company with a strong international presence and an ambitious growth strategy in global markets, we are looking for anInternational Sales Manager – Food Retail (International Markets)The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and expanding the company's business in international retail markets, managing relationships with key retail chains, importers and distributors, and contributing to the global growth and positioning of the brand.The role will focus on building and managing international retail partnerships, negotiating commercial agreements, and identifying new market opportunities within the modern retail channel (GDO / large-scale retail).Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement the commercial strategy in the assigned international markets, with a specific focus on the modern retail channel (international retail chains and organized retail groups)Manage and grow relationships with key international retail customers, distributors, and importersIdentify and onboard new distribution partners and retail opportunities in target marketsLead commercial negotiations including pricing, trade terms, promotional plans, listing agreements, and annual commercial conditions with retail partnersMonitor sales performance and market trends, ensuring the achievement of revenue and profitability targetsCollaborate with internal departments (marketing, supply chain, trade marketing, customer service) to ensure efficient execution of retail strategiesSupport the development of category growth initiatives, promotional activities and retail marketing programs with international partnersAnalyze competitive landscape and market dynamics to identify new business opportunities and optimize market positioningParticipate in international trade fairs and conduct regular visits to key markets and partnersEnsure accurate reporting and pipeline management through CRM and internal sales tools
Candidate Profile
Degree in Business Administration, Economics, International Business, or related fieldsAt least 5–8 years of experience in international sales or export roles within the food or FMCG sectorProven experience working with international retail chains, large-scale retail organizations (GDO), and/or importers and distributorsStrong understanding of international retail dynamics, distribution networks, and export marketsDemonstrated experience negotiating commercial agreements with retail customers or distributorsStrong analytical mindset with the ability to monitor market trends and sales performanceExcellent negotiation, relationship-building and communication skillsEntrepreneurial mindset with a strong orientation toward results and business developmentFluency in English; additional languages are considered a plusAvailability for frequent international travel
