Partner with the best Responsibilities As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for programming a component, feature and/or feature set. Works independently and contributes to the immediate team and to other teams across business. You will also contribute to design discussions. As a Lead Engineer you will be responsible for: designing the engineering processes & software ecosystems dedicated to Turbomachinery engineering teams, in particular Centrifugal Compressors and Gas Turbine product selection. Transforming the Engineering needs/processes into Business requirements documents and Software specifications for Application development outsourcing. Providing technical leadership to, and engaging in technical discussions with, internal/external stakeholders during analysis, development, rollout. Define technical requirements (calculation algorithms, backend business logic, UX, tech stack) in collaboration with BH internal customer and third parties. Establishing strong connections with Baker Hughes Digital Technology teams to ensure fruitful collaborations for technology evolution, adoption, and operational tasks. Working with team members to lead the IT infrastructure evolution to guarantee and maximize performance of tools and technical calculations across the whole product portfolio. Creating, maintaining, improving, and driving new app functionalities including relevant documentation. Leading testing and validation activity (e.g., user acceptance tests). Supporting technical program users to solve issues on tools and/or theory. Managing cross-functional and multicultural teams to assure project execution. Managing project risks to prevent issues and drive mitigation plans/actions. Ensuring compliance with all corporate standards and practices. Identifying the scope of work, providing initial estimates and justifying the estimates with facts. Demonstrating understanding of Agile/Waterfall software development lifecycle and ability to distinguish the core inputs and outputs in each cycle. Documenting technical data consistent with engineering policies and procedures. Participating as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews. Harmonizing and adapting goals in the context of complex global development plans and variable requirements. Guaranteeing the respect of quality procedures and leading team process improvements. Participating on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives, projects and generic issues. Leading the evolution of software frameworks to ensure Baker Hughes alignment with global state-of-the-art. Fostering a culture of quality right at the first time. Providing oversight and mentoring team members, with the ability to effectively delegate work. Qualifications Have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, preferred, or similar STEM majors. Have solid experience in turbomachinery mechanics, balance of plant, especially in Centrifugal Compressors and Gas Turbines, with focus on Centrifugal Compression trains and Steam Turbines. Have at least 5 years of experience in software lifecycle management and software design. Experience in software specification definition, evolution and design of web applications based on Java tech stack. Be familiar with programming languages such as SQL, Fortran, Java, Python, Bash, Visual Basic. Experience in software lifecycle management: DEV, QA, PROD environments, deployment processes and code versioning system (GIT). Familiar with IT infrastructure components and functionality such as IP networking basics, cybersecurity elements (firewall, authentication layer, code vulnerability management), proxy load balancing, DNS, and server specifications (CPU, RAM, storage). Ability to analyze complex issues and decompose into a manageable set of tasks. Experience in leading projects with global teams. Clear thinking with an entrepreneur's mindset. Able to fluently speak and write in English. Self-motivated, proactive, able to lead and solve problems through collaboration. Reports to senior leadership. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact positively with internal and external parties. Hold EU Passport.
