Overview
A Sales Manager analyzes local market trends and competitor activity to recommend strategies that keep the hotel a leader in the marketplace through the development of future and repeat business.
Responsibilities
* Develop, suggest and implement hotel sales plans aligned with business objectives, leveraging these plans to drive sales efforts across all market segments, including Leisure, Groups, and Meetings & Events.
* Establish, maintain, and expand relationships with a strong emphasis on key leisure accounts, particularly within luxury consortia.
* Coach, mentor, and guide the sales team to strengthen their skills, encourage collaboration, and boost overall performance.
* Manage RFPs and lead contract negotiations for FITs, wholesalers, and high-end travel agencies.
* Collaborate closely with the Groups, Meetings & Events Department to generate and convert business for groups, congresses, and social events, mainly weddings.
* Proactively prospect and generate new business with a strong focus on international markets through outbound calls, client visits, Fam Trips, trade shows, and roadshows.
* Establish and grow relationships with selected key leisure accounts.
* Act as a role model and inspire the hotel team through leading by example.
Qualifications
* Highly skilled in all modes of communication: spoken, written, and non‑verbal.
* Ability to adapt to shifting business priorities and varying market focuses.
* Proficiency in maintaining composure and objectivity under pressure, including tight deadlines and demanding travel schedules.
* Operate both independently on travel arrangements and sales planning, and collaboratively within the team to drive business conversion.
* Fluency in Italian and English; proficiency in other languages is an asset.
* Experience in a sales role with a proven ability to drive results.
* Committed to the highest standards of quality and performance.
* Self‑motivated and self‑driven with a proactive approach.
* Background in lifestyle or luxury hospitality is a plus.
