The purpose of the role
The mission of the Finance organization revolves around three key areas: 1) protecting business assets, 2) providing timely and accurate insights and analytics, and 3) driving sustainable business growth and expansion.
The Head of Controlling, Tax, and Treasury will oversee accounting processes, tax and statutory filings, cash management, and external audits for Europe and Africa.
This role involves significant interaction with the Corporate Finance team and the Europe & Africa executive management. You will also collaborate closely with HR and IT leaders.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Controlling
2. Serve as the primary contact with the global controlling team.
3. Manage monthly and year-end accounts, ensuring proper documentation.
4. Supervise consolidated and statutory accounts, as well as corporate tax computations for all entities in Europe & Africa.
5. Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and statutory requirements.
6. Implement and review transfer pricing policies regularly.
7. Lead audits for Europe and Africa entities.
8. Advise on legal and tax considerations when establishing new entities.
9. Maintain a robust internal control environment, including segregation of duties and audit trails.
Accounting activities
1. Provide technical accounting support and coaching.
2. Ensure accurate record-keeping and control account management.
3. Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring policies are followed and payments are made on time.
End-to-End Cash Management
1. Coordinate with the global treasury team.
2. Supervise daily cash management and forecasting.
3. Oversee cash pooling activities across Europe & Africa and manage FinCo operations.
People Leadership
1. Participate in the Europe & Africa Finance Leadership team.
2. Lead, develop, and motivate a team of approximately 14 members, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
3. Promote health and safety standards.
Requirements
1. Master's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or Finance; MBA is a plus.
2. Certified accountant (CPA, ACCA, CIMA) or experience with Big4.
3. At least 10 years of senior-level experience in international finance, including accounting management and financial controlling.
4. Experience with consolidation, cash management, and manufacturing cost accounting.
5. Experience leading audits and familiarity with US GAAP.
6. Strong knowledge of tax and transfer pricing practices.
7. Proficiency in Excel (macros, financial modeling).
8. Analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
9. Experience with D365 and BPC is advantageous.
10. Proven leadership in people management and budgeting.
11. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
12. Track record of achieving results under challenging circumstances.
