Eligibility for NATO Secret clearance required Oltre-CSD is looking for an experienced Windows System Administrator to support secure, mission-critical infrastructures within the Cyber, Space & Defence domain. The successful candidate will perform system administration across classified and unclassified networks and ensure the physical and electronic security of all systems. Main Responsibilities • Perform daily administration of Microsoft Windows Server environments (AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies). • Manage Active Directory Services including Domain Controllers, Trust Relationships, CA, NPS. • Administer virtualization platforms and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (Microsoft, VMware). • Execute installation, configuration, updates, and maintenance of Windows-based systems and applications. • Use infrastructure management tools to automate provisioning, deployment, and testing. • Perform system and data backups and restorations following standard procedures. • Monitor systems proactively, detect performance degradation, and generate availability reports. • Lead troubleshooting activities, resolve operational issues, and propose corrective or procurement actions. • Tailor system software to maximize hardware performance and install/test new versions. • Prepare and maintain technical documentation for systems, networks, and cabling. • Develop scripts (PowerShell) to automate system administration tasks. • Support release management processes, including roll-out and roll-back. • Provide 2nd-line support and collaborate closely with the Service Desk, including on-the-job training for 1st-line support. • Stay up-to-date with IT technology and user-facing trends to ensure modern support capabilities. • Perform duties both at the Centre and, when required, on deployed platforms (typically short deployments). Mandatory Requirements • Higher technical vocational training or equivalent experience. • At least 5 years of post-related experience. • Minimum 3 years of detailed experience with: – MS Windows Server administration – Active Directory – DNS, DHCP – GPOs • Strong experience with WSUS, SCCM, CA, NPS. • In-depth experience with virtualization and VDI technologies. • Strong knowledge of MS Office, email clients, browsers, and web content management tools. • Ability to ensure physical and electronic security of systems. • Proven agility in dynamic environments and a strong service-oriented attitude. • Scripting and automation skills (PowerShell essential). • Excellent English proficiency (NATO STANAG 6001 – SLP 3333). • Eligibility for NATO Secret security clearance (active clearance is considered a strong asset). Desirable Qualifications • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server administration. • VMware or Microsoft Server certifications (e.g., MCSA). • Experience in hybrid Linux/Active Directory environments. • Strong knowledge of ITIL Service Management. • Project management experience. • Experience with configuration control and collaboration tools. • Prior experience in international military/civilian environments. • Certifications such as Security, Network, or equivalent.
