Experteer Overview
In this role, you lead the property’s sales and marketing efforts to achieve bookings and revenue targets. You will guide a team of sales associates, implement brand initiatives, and coordinate with regional teams to position the property in the market. You’ll shape property-wide marketing strategies, campaigns, and partnerships to drive revenue and enhance brand visibility. A core focus is building long-term, value-based customer relationships while delivering Marriott’s service standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop strategic account plans for demand generators in the market and manage reactive and proactive sales efforts
- Define and execute marketing communications with Regional Marketing Communications
- Provide market intelligence to adapt sales strategies to market and economic trends
- Monitor market position using STAR reports, competitive shopping, and other data;
adjust strategies accordingly - Research competitors’ sales approaches to grow occupancy, RevPAR, and market share
- Participate in sales strategy meetings and contribute to weekly and overall strategy
- Generate innovative marketing ideas and deployment plans to grow market share
- Coordinate participation with Area Sales and Group Sales;
act as primary sales contact for GM and leadership - Advise customers and act as their advocate;
own sales processes andcontracts - Liaise with Area Sales, Group Sales, Revenue Management, Event Management, and other departments
- Engage in sales calls to acquire and close business;
identify PR opportunities and orchestrate related activities - Support crisis communications for the General Manager;
uphold Marriott Customer Service and Brand Standards - Oversee operational aspects of booked business (proposals, contracts, correspondence)
- Ensure seamless turnover between sales and operations;
uphold high service levels - Monitor guest issue resolution from the sales process and escalate appropriately
- Manage the marketing budget to fund property campaigns and collateral
- Interface with Regional Marketing Communications for regional and national promotions
- Develop property-wide marketing strategies to meet brand and owner objectives
Qualifications
- 3-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related major
- Three years of experience in a similar position
