About the role
The Category Manager is strategically responsible for a defined business segment, with a large portfolio of sellers and categories of strategic importance, within a Supercluster. The goal of the Category Manager is to increase the sales and profitability of the categories Classic Cars and Motorcycles ( Automotive) by driving sustainable growth that fits within Catawiki's value proposition. The Category Manager develops and implements long and short-term organisational strategies and ensures strong communication and coordination between staff.
The Category Manager closely manages a team of experts and designs budget and headcount decisions. He/she creates and develops strong relationships, both internal and external with sellers and buyers; driving excellence in our client experience. The Category Manager/ Director is a member of the Supercluster Management Team, reporting to the Vice President.
What you’ll do
* Design and lead the development of the long term strategy of Automotive in accordance with the Vice President.
* Oversees the categories Classic Cars and Motorcycles (including a large portfolio of sellers and categories and of strategic importance for the Supercluster)
* The Category Manager translates the long term strategy into an annual budget towards the team.
* Ensure that the Automotive proposition to its buyers and sellers is in line with Catawiki’s overall value proposition;
* Accountability for the cluster P&L -as set by the VP, and hereby oversees the financial and budgetary activities; in order to make recommendations for improvement to further success in terms of revenue.
* Ensuring customer centricity within the Customer Journey
* Analysing and benchmarking key competitors, having an understanding of the drivers and trends in the market. Ensures the business is compliant with industry regulations.
* Secures and develops long term resource planning in consultation with the Vice President.
* Aligning the strategy across departments and enhancing collaboration amongst the different teams.
What you’ll bring
* 7+ years of relevant work experience in e-commerce businesses with a passion for Automotive
* Proven commercial experience and drive with a customer centric attitude
* 5 years of experience in (in-)direct people management responsibility
* Excellent project management, problem solving, analytical, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
* Team player who thrives in a high-growth, constantly changing environment
