The Opportunity We are looking for a Sales Manager to lead Nutanix's Public Sector business in Italy, with a strategic focus on the Central Public Sector, primarily based in Rome. This high-impact leadership role is critical to our success in the Italian market and focuses on delivering large-scale digital transformation initiatives within key government organizations. You'll manage a team of Account Managers, engage directly with central government entities, collaborate with channel partners, and drive complex sales cycles. Working closely with Sales Engineers, Marketing, and cross-functional teams, you'll bring energy, structure, and a strategic lens to an addressable market rich with potential. This role is ideal for a driven, public-sector-savvy leader with a passion for coaching teams, navigating public tenders, and building high-level customer relationships in a technically complex environment. Your Role * Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of 5-10 Account Managers focused on central government sales. * Build and grow relationships within key government organizations, with a strong emphasis on stakeholders in Rome. * Drive revenue by penetrating new divisions and accounts, and by expanding existing relationships. * Navigate complex public sector sales cycles, including compliance requirements and procurement frameworks. * Develop and strengthen channel partnerships to scale outreach and solution delivery. * Partner closely with Sales Engineers, Marketing, Professional Services, and Channel teams to ensure a cohesive go-to-market approach. * Represent Nutanix at relevant public sector events and associations, reinforcing our value proposition to key stakeholders. * Own operational execution and sales performance, while aligning with the Country Manager on strategic direction. * Help build team structure and hiring plans to support long-term growth in the region. What We're Looking For * A natural team leader with proven ability to coach, retain, and grow sales talent. * Deep experience selling into the Italian central public sector, with a strong network in Rome and familiarity with government ecosystems. * Strategic mindset with the ability to qualify the market, develop team strategies, and execute against quota in a highly structured manner. * Demonstrated success in channel building and selling complex infrastructure or cloud solutions into public sector environments. * A confident communicator, equally comfortable engaging C-level executives and internal stakeholders. What You'll Need * 5 years of experience in the public sector, with direct responsibility for Italy's central government accounts. * Experience managing sales teams of 5-10 people, ideally in a public sector or complex enterprise sales environment. * Strong understanding of government procurement and digital transformation initiatives. * Experience with public institutions such as Sogei, AgID, Consip, and familiarity with military or defense-related projects. * Technical expertise in datacenter, cloud, or enterprise IT environments, with the ability to lead value-based sales conversations. * Fluent/native Italian and strong English communication skills. * Bachelor's degree required; Master's or MBA preferred. * Location: Rome J-18808-Ljbffr
