We are looking for a senior Business Development Manager from the ski industry.
This is not a general travel role. We need someone with real, hands‑on experience in ski travel who has worked directly with property managers, chalet operators, and mountain hotels.
You understand seasonal inventory and have negotiated or managed seasonal buyouts (allotments, full chalet buyouts, hotel blocks).
Ideally, you are based in France with strong network access in major French Alpine resorts such as Tignes, Val d’Isère, Méribel, Courchevel, La Plagne, Les Arcs, Alpe d’Huez.
Who we are looking for?
You should have:5+ years in the ski industry (tour operator, bed bank, resort‑level BD, chalet company, or ski specialist agency)
Direct experience negotiating with property managers
Experience managing seasonal hotel or chalet allotments
Strong network in the French Alps (highly preferred)
Deep understanding of ski season revenue dynamics
Fluent French and strong EnglishNice to have:Experience with UK outbound ski market
Experience working with dynamic packaging
Existing relationships in Tier 1 resortsResponsibilities
Supply Acquisition & ContractingSource and contract ski accommodation (chalets, apartments, boutique hotels, residences)
Negotiate seasonal allotments and preferential commercial terms
Secure block inventory in high‑demand weeks
Structure buyouts where strategically relevant
Align cancellation policies and margin logic with operator modelYou understand ski season dynamics:Peak vs shoulder weeks
Group inventory vs family inventory
School holiday pressure
Tour operator competitionRelationship ManagementBuild long‑term partnerships with property management companies, chalet operators, mountain hoteliers, and resort‑level stakeholders
Maintain direct communication throughout the season
Monitor availability, pricing shifts, and operational qualityThis is embedded, resort‑level relationship building — not transactional BD.
Strategic Resort FocusIdentify 3–5 core strategic resorts
Build density of supply within themCommercial optimizationEnsure competitive margin structures
Support yield strategy
Align inventory with demand signals from marketing and AI personalization
Feed insights back to product & growth team
Monitor competitor positioning (Heidi, We Ski, traditional UK operators, French tour operators)
Track pricing behavior
