As a member of the Axon EMEA Sales Engineering Team, you support the sales campaign to communicate the value of and deploy and support evidence capture devices, digital evidence management solutions (SaaS and on‑premise) to Public Safety Agencies across the Southern Europe region. The role is quota‑carrying, customer‑facing, front‑line, influencing product enhancements and the deployment of Axon Enterprise’s products and solutions.\nLocation\nRome, Italy\nReports To\nSr Manager, Sales Engineering EU\nDirect Reports\n0\nResponsibilities Support the technical and value aspects of the sales effort across territory, including impactful technical presentations, architecture design discussions, competitive displacement, proof‑of‑concept engagements, leading RFP/RFI responses, solution demonstrations and technical workshops with customers and partners.\nSupport the smooth transition of the sales opportunity into successful delivery by our Professional Services and/or Partner network.\nConsistently research, network and ideate to become the regional “go‑to” resource for future solution opportunities, product roadmap development and thought leadership.\nPresent and evangelise Axon technical & business value propositions at industry events.\nDevelop in‑depth technical knowledge of AXON and domain expertise within the technology subject area.\nDocument customer feature requests and issues, providing feedback to sales and product management.\nProvide support to product test and evaluations.\nExecute customer site assessments targeting technology infrastructure assessments.\nTransfer industry, technical and product knowledge to customers and colleagues.\nProactively plan to prevent pre‑ and post‑sales issues to shorten time to revenue. What You Bring A natural and enthusiastic aptitude for technology plus the ability to communicate its value using compiled and contextualised stories to anyone from any background.\nConfidence to own and professionally drive customers to successful outcomes with Axon solutions.\nA “self‑starter” – ability to identify what tasks need your ownership and when you should collaborate.\nBachelor's Degree (preferably in Computer Science or Engineering) or equivalent experience.\nWillingness to travel significantly (70%), including some international travel.\nMust have a valid Passport and Clean Driving License.\n8+ years experience as a Sales Engineer, Systems Engineer, Network Engineer or similar related field.\nKnowledge and demonstrated operating experience in one or more of the following specialisations: Digital Video, Mobile communications, IP Engineering, IP security, Embedded Systems, IAM, SaaS.\nStrong understanding of CCTV systems, VMS, network technologies and IP stack (e.g., Genetec, Milestone, Avigilon, Ocularis, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls, VPN gateways, proxies).\nHigh degree of technical knowledge in computing infrastructure components, data centres, and system support.\nExperience in data integration and data analysis to support an expanding product portfolio.\nExperience and understanding of large‑scale infrastructure‑as‑a‑service platforms (e.g., Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, OpenStack).\nDemonstrable experience of strong project management for successful PoC’s.\nFluent native Italian and excellent English language skills essential.\nEvidence of effectively adding value as a global team member.\nEvidence of working effectively remotely and independently.\nKnowledge and experience implementing and managing relational database solutions, particularly Microsoft/Azure SQL – an advantage.\nPractical knowledge of SAN technologies (EMC, HP 3Par, etc.) – an advantage.
