We’re seeking a dynamic and results-driven Direct Procurement Senior Category Manager to join our Global Procurement Team. The position: This role involves supporting the Head of Direct Procurement in managing procurement activities related to direct goods and services within Alfasigma. Responsibilities include developing and implementing supplier and category strategies, negotiating with suppliers, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring cost-effective procurement processes. The Senior Category Manager collaborates with various departments to align procurement strategies with organizational goals. Key responsibilities: Category and Supplier Strategy: Develop and implement procurement plans, analyze market trends, identify suppliers, negotiate contracts, and maintain supplier relationships. Cost Management: Negotiate favorable terms, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement cost reduction initiatives. Collaboration and Communication: Work with internal stakeholders to understand needs and communicate procurement policies. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with laws and policies, and mitigate procurement risks. Contract Management: Draft, review, negotiate, monitor, and renew contracts. Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze procurement data, track performance, and prepare management reports. Requirements: Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field. Proven experience in direct procurement, managerial experience preferred. Pharma industry experience is a plus. API knowledge is a plus. Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills. Knowledge of procurement practices, contract management, and supplier evaluation. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in procurement software and tools. Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards. Strategic thinking, organizational skills, and attention to detail. Teamwork, adaptability, leadership, and decision-making capabilities.
