Global Product Specialist - Renewable Power Generation Transformers Hitachi Specialista Senior / Project Manager Description The Opportunity Hitachi Energy is seeking candidates to work as part of the Global Product Group (GPG) Power Transformers. The Global Product Specialist (GPS) will collaborate directly with the Global Product Manager (GPM) for Industrial & Specialty (I&S) Transformers, working with our worldwide network of R&D centers and local business teams to capture and translate customer requirements into improvements of existing solutions and to set directions for new product developments. This role offers an opportunity for transformer engineering and R&D experts to apply their knowledge to assist customers with demanding applications and participate in the joint development of new solutions for the evolving electrical grid. The work will also involve participation in technical meetings, the development of international standards, and contributing to industry knowledge on power transformer technology. The GPS will be responsible for ensuring the competitiveness of products, delivering strong value differentiation, and maintaining technological leadership for converter transformers and related applications, with a focus on customer satisfaction and profitable growth. How you will make an impact Analyze market conditions by following international standards, customer requirements, and their impact on the portfolio. Conduct competitor analyses to identify technical gaps and explore opportunities for competitiveness. Manage technical specifications of Industrial and Specialty Power transformers and support the Global Product Manager in developing business cases for product development, technology transfer, maintenance, and competitiveness, especially focusing on Renewable Power Generation Transformers and Variable Frequency Drive Transformers. Collect and share market technical data to validate product performance and translate customer/market requirements into technical specifications for new products and projects following internal processes. Prepare technical communication materials such as white papers and support new product launches. Keep engineering, operations, sales, and channels informed about market trends, competition, quality, configurations, and industry developments related to Industrial and Specialty transformers. Support data quality initiatives, participate in customer meetings, and attend trade shows and conferences to better understand customer needs and pain points. Ensure availability of training materials for Industrial and Specialty transformers, particularly focusing on Renewable Power Generation Transformers and Variable Frequency Drive Transformers, for internal and external use. Your background MSc or BSc in Engineering. Over 10 years of experience in transformer engineering and/or R&D, including electrical design and understanding of manufacturing processes and cost structures. Technical knowledge of transformer portfolios for power electronic/converter applications, including but not limited to variable speed/frequency drives, renewable energy converters, and industrial/marine converters. Experience working with international customers and standardization groups. Strong communication and presentation skills. Fluent in English, with experience in writing technical papers and reports.
