We are partnering with a leading global specialty logistics organisation that plays a critical role in supporting the healthcare and life‑sciences ecosystem worldwide. With a long‑standing reputation for excellence, they specialise in the transport and storage of time‑ and temperature‑sensitive products, ensuring reliability, compliance, and peace of mind for their customers across the biopharma sector.
To support their continued growth, they are seeking a Business Development Manager to join their commercial team in Italy. This role is ideally based in Milan, covering key markets across the country.
Responsibilities
* Lead and execute new customer acquisition across the Italian market
* Manage and grow a portfolio of new and existing clients within the BioPharma ecosystem
* Build a detailed understanding of each customer\'s business model, strategic objectives, and competitive landscape
* Develop long-term strategic partnerships with decision makers and key influencers
* Represent the full suite of the organisation\'s specialised logistics capabilities and services
* Support and participate in marketing activities such as campaigns, trade shows, and industry events
* Identify, qualify, and prioritise all commercial opportunities
* Collaborate closely with regional operations teams to align service offerings with customer requirements
* Work cross-functionally to design complex, high-value, tailored logistics solutions
* Proactively monitor customer satisfaction, quality metrics, and issue resolution
* Identify potential risks and implement contingency plans
* Explore emerging market opportunities and trends in the Italian life‑sciences space
* Manage the sales pipeline and monitor key performance indicators
Requirements
* Languages: Fluent in English and Italian (both essential)
* Experience: 1-2 years in business development, sales, or account management
* Education: Bachelor\'s degree desirable
* Experience in logistics/transport or in the pharmaceutical/life‑sciences sector is important
* Strong communication and presentation skills (written and verbal)
* Customer‑focused, proactive, and able to work both independently and collaboratively
