As soon as possible we are looking for a Category Manager Warehouse Solutions and Mail & Parcel systems.

Job Purpose:
The role will focus on defining the category strategy and leading sourcing projects for a sub-regional spend of €40m across Warehouse Solutions and Mail & Parcel Systems. This includes automated storage and retrieval systems, forklifts and pallet trucks, logistics robots, packing systems, cages and parcel lockers, racking and shelves, sorting equipment, loading/unloading solutions, conveying systems, identification systems, and telescopic conveyors.
The main objective is to manage the contractual process and sourcing activities in line with compliance requirements, ensuring the business receives the most competitive pricing and highest quality solutions as approved by the requesting functions.
The role applies broad theoretical knowledge, typically gained through advanced education, and works with clear guidance on the most complex projects and processes. It is an individual contributor position without direct people management responsibility.
Your tasks:
- Develop and implement the category strategy at country level, and then extend it to the sub-regional level, in alignment with local business requirements and category sourcing guidelines.
- Create and maintain a sourcing project pipeline roadmap.
- Lead and execute sourcing projects.
- Build category knowledge and conduct market scouting.
- Participate actively in regional category calls.
- Manage cross-divisional business partner relationships within the Group.
- Support business decisions on investments and budgets.
- Manage relationships with strategic suppliers.
- Oversee stakeholder management activities.
- Interact with other EMEA countries to share best practices.
- Undertake ad-hoc business trips to DHL Italy sites and to headquarters in Bonn.
Your profile:
- University degree completed, preferably in Engineering, or equivalent technical studies.
- Minimum of 3 years in a similar sourcing role, or 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain operations.
- Fluency in Italian and English (written and spoken); additional languages are an advantage but not essential.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
- High level of customer orientation.
- Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively
- Confident and convincing in interactions with suppliers and business partners.
- Fast learner with strong problem-solving skills.
- Capable of managing projects under time pressure.
- Able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Procurement or Supply Chain-related qualification desirable but not essential.
