PbTechnical Data Expert /b /ppBusiness unit Parts and Field Service is a global organisation with harmonised ways of working and tools to deliver the best possible services for our customers. Our Workshop Engineering team is dedicated to supporting workshops in digitising core operations and enabling new business opportunities through advanced technology and information systems. /ppAre you passionate about technical data, digital transformation, and making a tangible impact in global workshop operations? /ppWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated bTechnical Data Expert /b to join our team for an 18-month fixed-term contract. Based on project progress, business needs, and individual performance, there is strong potential for extension. /ppThe preferred location for this role is bVaasa, Finland /b. Other Wärtsilä locations with operational workshops may also be considered, including sites in Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, UAE, and the UK. Being based at a workshop location is strongly preferred to enable close collaboration with workshop personnel and ensure hands-on involvement in system implementation and support. Our team embraces a hybrid work model, so you’ll have the flexibility to work partially remotely. /ppbWhat will you be doing? /b /ppAs a bTechnical Data Expert /b, you will play a key role in driving the digital transformation of our Workshop Execution System (WES) by developing and refining technical documentation, digital templates, and measurement records. This role is essential to ensuring high-quality, standardised, and efficient workshop operations across our global network. /ppYour responsibilities include, but are not limited to: /pulliDeveloping and maintaining digital Inspection Reports (IRs) and Overhaul Reports (ORs) for WES. /liliDigitising and optimising Measurement Records (MRs) for workshop use. /liliSupporting the optimisation and creation of the WAMS Service Product (SP) structure. /liliContributing to the QCP project by reviewing and compiling workshop-relevant instructions into structured, accessible formats. /liliCollaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure content accuracy, usability, and alignment with engineering standards. /liliCoordinating and supporting subcontracted resources, ensuring quality and timely delivery. /liliMaintaining documentation revision control and ensuring compliance with audit and quality standards. /li /ulpbThe following will enable you to succeed in this role: /b /pulliBachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, IT, or a related technical field. /liliMinimum 3–5 years of experience in technical documentation, workshop systems, or engineering support roles. /liliStrong understanding of workshop processes, service product structures, and technical reporting. /liliExperience with digital tools and systems (e.g., WES, WAMS, Power BI, or similar platforms). /liliExcellent attention to detail and the ability to manage large volumes of technical data effectively. /liliStrong communication and coordination skills, particularly in cross-functional and multicultural environments. /liliProficiency in English; additional languages are considered an advantage. /liliWillingness to travel to support global operations and collaborate with regional workshops. /li /ulpbIn addition, the ideal candidate is: /b /pulliFamiliar with Wärtsilä systems and internal processes. /liliExperienced in managing or supporting digital transformation projects. /liliAble to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic setting. /li /ulpbContact next steps: /b /ppIf you have any questions about this position, please contact Manager Workshop Engineering Markku Nissilä via email, or General Manager, Global Expertise Centre Jonny Mollgren.
