Purpose of the job: Amazon is a global leader in sustainable building operations, committed to advancing energy-efficient mechanical systems and optimizing facility infrastructure. Our global remote support for general maintenance and refrigeration continues to grow, providing reliable and efficient solutions across Amazon's warehouse network. RME seeks an experienced Building & Mechanical Systems Manager to lead a team of specialists responsible for remote coordination of maintenance activities across our global facilities. Responsibilities Design and own the global RME BBM control tower start-up and long-term strategies, setting vision, roles, responsibilities, and clear goals for the team. Recruit, build, inspire, and motivate a team working towards common objectives. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement. Serve as the main escalation point for complex mechanical and refrigeration issues, facilitating cross-functional meetings, listening carefully, establishing facts, and making key decisions. Implement and maintain rigorous quality control standards for SOPs and training. Establish meeting routines, KPIs, and mechanisms to ensure work processes, systems, vendors, quality, productivity, training, and labor management meet standards. Oversee global budgets for maintenance and repair activities, optimizing costs while maintaining high-quality service. Collaborate with procurement and stakeholders to ensure effective contracts and SLAs with third-party vendors, maintaining strong vendor relationships. Work with other RME teams to implement best practices for inventory management and reliability initiatives to maximize mechanical and refrigeration asset uptime across the network. Basic qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or completion of an approved Mechanical/HVAC Apprenticeship, or equivalent. Proven leadership experience managing technical teams, preferably in building maintenance, HVAC, or related fields. Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, refrigeration, and building infrastructure. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
