Job Description
Principal Product Marketing Manager – SUSE AI
As the Principal Product Marketing Manager for SUSE AI, you will be the definitive voice and chief storyteller for our AI portfolio. Reporting directly to the VP & General Manager of AI, you will own the end‐to‐end marketing strategy for solutions designed to run AI workloads on top of a secure, cloud‐native stack (built on SUSE Linux and Rancher). The role transcends traditional marketing, demanding a blend of deep technical acumen and world‐class storytelling to cut through the noisy AI landscape.
The Role
From defining our global go‐to‐market strategy to crafting visionary keynotes and equipping our global salesforce and strategic partners, you will be the bridge between cutting‐edge engineering efforts and the broader market, shaping how enterprise adopts AI for the next decade.
Key Responsibilities
End‐to‐End Go‐to‐Market (GTM) Strategy: Own and execute the global GTM strategy for the SUSE AI portfolio, defining target audiences, buyer personas, market segmentation, ecosystem partners, and the channels required to drive awareness and adoption.
Visionary Positioning & Messaging: Synthesize complex technical concepts into clear, differentiated messaging, positioning SUSE as the best platform for AI workloads and uniquely against competitors.
Compelling Storytelling & Content Creation: Lead author for high‐value content, producing whitepapers, blog posts, videos, website copy, and keynote presentations to establish SUSE as a thought leader in open‐source enterprise AI.
Ecosystem & Partner Marketing: Collaborate with strategic technology alliances to develop joint value propositions, co‐marketing campaigns, and integrated GTM motions.
Sales Enablement & Evangelism: Equip global sales, partner, and customer success teams with pitch decks, battle cards, demo scripts, ROI calculators, and serve as an evangelist at conferences, webinars, and analyst briefings.
Cross‐Functional Leadership: Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and broader SUSE Marketing teams to ensure alignment through the release cycle and act as the critical feedback loop.
Market & Competitive Intelligence: Monitor AI and cloud‐native landscapes, analyze competitor moves, emerging open‐source projects, and customer trends to proactively adjust messaging and influence product roadmap.
Your Profile
You are a technologist at heart and a storyteller by trade. You deeply understand how enterprise software, Kubernetes, AI, and machine learning models work in production. You thrive in ambiguity, have a high bias for action, and can report directly to a GM while influencing leaders across a global organization.
Required Skills & Experience
5–10+ years in Product Marketing, Technical Evangelism, or Product Management within enterprise software, cloud, or open‐source infrastructure.
Deep Technical Acumen: Proven understanding of cloud‐native ecosystems (Kubernetes, CNCF projects), enterprise Linux, and cloud‐native infrastructure.
AI/ML Domain Knowledge: Strong familiarity with Generative AI, LLMs, MLOps, inferencing, and secure, large‐scale AI workloads.
Proven B2B SaaS/Software Track Record: Demonstrated success in launching complex technical products and driving measurable GTM outcomes.
Exceptional Communication: Brilliant writing, editing, and presentation skills with a portfolio of prior work (blogs, keynotes, whitepapers).
Strategic & Hands‐On: Ability to oscillate between high‐level strategy and executing deliverables.
Preferred Experience
Background in open‐source community projects, especially in cloud‐native space; experience with Kubernetes, Linux, cloud, or AI product teams.
Prior technical role (Software Engineering, Solutions Architecture, or Developer Advocacy) before transitioning into marketing.
Deep understanding of AI growth verticals such as Telco and Edge, including deployment challenges and business drivers. xrdztoy
