Your Role
AsArea Managerat Sanoma Learning Italy, you will be responsible for driving commercial performance across a defined geographical area. With over 8 years of experience in sales and team leadership—preferably in the publishing or education sectors—you will be in charge of managing a network of agents and representatives, strengthening client relationships, and identifying local growth opportunities.
You will work closely with national sales leadership, marketing, and product teams to align commercial strategies with local execution, ensuring the best experience for schools, teachers, and educational institutions.
Your Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the sales operations within your area, ensuring achievement of sales targets and market share growth
* Supervise, motivate, and develop a team of sales agents and representatives
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key educational stakeholders (school leaders, teachers, institutions)
* Ensure effective local implementation of national sales and marketing strategies
* Monitor competitor activity and market trends to adjust tactics and identify new opportunities
* Support the adoption of digital learning solutions and blended offerings in your area
* Provide regular reporting on KPIs, forecasts, and customer feedback
* Collaborate with internal teams (product, marketing, customer service) to ensure excellent customer experience
* Represent Sanoma Learning Italy at regional education events, conferences, and trade fairs
* Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, sharing best practices across regions
What We Expect from You
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Business, Marketing, or related field
* At least 8 years of experience in sales or commercial roles, with a strong track record in team management
* Background in the publishing, education, or edtech sectors is highly valued
* Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills
* Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
* Strategic mindset with hands-on execution
* Proficiency with CRM systems and MS Office tools
* Fluent in Italian and English; other European languages are a plus
* Willingness to travel regularly across the assigned region
