Amazon Web Services (AWS) is growing rapidly, and we are looking for Engineering Operations Technician Trainees to join our expanding Data Center team in Abu Dhabi.
Programme Details
- Duration: 6 months, full-time (40 hours/week).
- Schedule: Standard Monday–Friday day schedule.
- The programme provides exposure to the skills required for a future full‑time Data Center Engineering Operations Technician role. A full‑time role may involve shifts, weekends, and on‑call rotations.

Key job responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining and operating mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Support root cause analysis of equipment failures.
- Help troubleshoot facility and rack‑level events within internal SLAs.
- Take daily operational readings of mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Use our internal CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to manage workflows.
- Work alongside third‑party vendors and contractors onsite.
- Work with equipment that supports mission‑critical servers, including diesel generators, switchgear, UPSs, PDUs, air handling units, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, motors, VFDs, and building automation systems.
Physical Requirements
- Working at heights and from ladders.
- Regularly lifting/moving up to 22kg (49lbs) unassisted, and participating in group lifts for heavier loads.
- Using hands to handle and manipulate small tools, wires, and objects.
Basic Qualifications
- UAE National with family book.
- Recently graduated, with a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Mechanical or Electrical Engineering) or
- Recently graduated from a Technical/Trade school programme (HVAC, electrician, facilities maintenance, or similar).
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
