If you are a technical sales professional looking to advance your career, this Sales Engineer (Power & Energy) opportunity within Emerson’s Global Sales organization offers the ideal blend of technical challenge, customer interaction, and strategic impact.

In this field-based role, covering Northern & Central Italy (ideally based in Northern Italy), you will work closely with customers to help them fully leverage Emerson’s industry‑leading automation, control, and Distributed Control System (DCS) solutions. Whether your experience comes from Power Generation or other process industries, this role will allow you to turn your technical expertise into real customer value.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
1. Develop Territory Strategy – Analyze market dynamics, customer needs, and competitor activity to create territory plans that drive growth in Northern & Central Italy, with a focus on the Power & Energy sector.
2. Engage Customers – Build and strengthen relationships with key decision-makers, from engineering teams to senior executives, fostering long-term partnerships.
3. Position Solutions – Identify customer challenges and present Emerson’s automation and DCS technologies (including Ovation and other platforms) clearly and confidently, highlighting value, safety, reliability, and performance.
4. Drive Customer Interaction – Conduct regular onsite visits, technical presentations, demos, and workshops to support customer understanding and advance the sales cycle.
5. Lead Negotiations – Handle commercial discussions related to pricing, discounts, and contract terms in line with Emerson’s Delegation of Authority, ensuring strong customer outcomes and business responsibility.
6. Collaborate Internally – Work closely with internal teams across sales support, proposals, engineering, projects, and services to develop high-value, customer-focused solutions.
7. Manage Pipeline – Keep accurate opportunity records in the CRM system, deliver reliable forecasts, and share insights on market trends, risks, and opportunities.
8. Ensure Compliance – Follow Emerson’s ethics standards, Trade Compliance processes, and all relevant laws and regulations.
9. Champion Emerson’s Values – Demonstrate collaboration, innovation, integrity, and inclusion in your everyday work, contributing to a positive team environment.

Who You Are:
You build strong customer relationships and deliver solutions that resonate with both technical and executive audiences. You communicate with clarity, adapt quickly to new situations, and consistently deliver results even in challenging circumstances. You collaborate openly, act with integrity, and bring a proactive, solution-oriented mindset to every interaction.

For This Role, You Will Need:
10. Experience in technical or solution-based sales, ideally in industrial automation, control systems, or similar engineering environments.
11. Strong technical understanding of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and the ability to communicate technical concepts confidently.
12. Familiarity with Ovation or comparable control platforms—or the motivation to learn quickly.
13. Experience managing a sales pipeline and working with CRM tools.
14. Fluent Italian and English communication skills, both written and spoken.
15. Willingness to travel extensively across Northern & Central Italy.
16. A valid driver’s license.
17. A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field, or relevant practical experience gained in automation or control systems.
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
18. Experience within the Power & Energy sector (power generation, OEMs, EPCs, or similar).
19. Knowledge of additional DCS platforms (., DeltaV, PCS 7, 800xA, Experion, .
20. Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization and across global teams.
21. Understanding of OEM/EPC project lifecycles, from conceptual design to commissioning and lifecycle services.
22. Strong strategic thinking and experience creating territory or account growth plans.
23. Experience in international or multicultural environments; additional languages are a plus.
