Global Category Manager (f/m/d)
Your daily contribution:
As "Global Category Manager" you are the leader of the assigned Category responsible for defining, implementing and executing effective strategies with aim to achieve the set targets of cost reduction, optimizing and managing the total category spend throughout the Burckhardt Compression Group while maintaining the pre-requisites of Quality and Delivery performance.
The "Global Category Manager" in his /her role works BC across, has access to and provides guidance to the Sourcing and Project procurement resources of the various procurement organizations.
the main task will be specially:
• Analyzes spend / demand / future development in the assigned category
• Sets category strategy and implementation plan for assigned global categories according to the business needs.
• Maintains Burckhardt Compression "Approved vendor list" for the assigned category
• Negotiates and makes global frame agreements for assigned categories
• Ensures adherence to the set category strategy (Controlling)
• Improves cost level and service quality of existing suppliers (Cost, Delivery performance and Quality of supply) in co-operation with the regional project procurement teams.
• Manages projects and other tasks related to the category projects assigned
• Coordinates with other category managers and procurement organizations for allocation and use of resources available in the BC group
Your Profile:
1. Prior work experience in the area Consultancy (Supply Chain) /Category Management / Strategic Procurement within a technical industrial corporation.
2. Extensive knowledge of sourcing theory and practice
3. Solid understanding and technical knowledge in the area mechanical auxiliaries within
engineering industry set-up
4. Track record of commercial and contractual expertise, paired with analytical thinking, strong
initiative and negotiation skills.
5. Very solid PC skills (Word, Excel, SAP, MS-Project), strong IT system knowledge and ideally knowledge of BI tools.
6. Fluent in English (verbal and writing) and preferrable Italian / German language skills
7. Experience in negotiation with suppliers and contract management
8. Project Management skills
