We are looking for a highly collaborative, influential, and competent Software Product Manager with SaaS experience to manage and grow our software business. This is a highly visible and critical role within the Industrial Business Group
The Software Product Manager’s primary purpose:
* Manage and grow the software portfolio (includes desktop, cloud, and hybrid applications) within the Industrial Business Group.
* Become the trusted authority, surrogate customer, and product evangelist of the portfolio within the organization.
* Define, support, and provide clarity for the overall software portfolio and roadmap for both current and new innovative solutions (including analytics) across existing and new industries.
* Help customers bridge and digitize their workflows more efficiently through software.
* This is an excellent role for someone who enjoys working with users, technology and delivering software products that users love. You will need to be comfortable executing in a fast-paced environment, able to work at both a user level and technical level and have a strong focus on outcomes.
The Software Product Manager’s responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
* Product Strategy and Vision
o Understand Datacolor’s strategic and competitive position and deliver software products that are aligned with the company’s overall mission and objectives.
o Define and articulate the product vision, strategy, roadmap, and business case, and drive the business decisions on projects to start, change, or terminate.
o Become the trusted authority of the portfolio and provide guidance and recommendation on decisions related to portfolio and competition to Leadership and key stakeholders based on sound analysis.
* Feature Prioritization and Backlog Management
o Serve as target customer and surrogate user via deep understanding of customer needs, pain points, and competitive offerings and platforms.
o Comb through product backlogs, conduct thorough market research, gather customer insights, and translate findings into well-defined product requirements and prioritized specifications.
o Maintain and groom the product backlog, ensuring that the development team is working on high-impact features with clear business value.
* Agile Development and Ceremonies
o Serves as an active product owner on the Scrum team and comes well-prepared to lead, support, and facilitate Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
o Takes full ownership of the product backlog, ensuring that it reflects the strategic vision, business priorities, and customer needs, with clear priorities and user stories.
o Lead Sprint Planning sessions, collaborating with the development team to define goals, scope, and priorities for each sprint.
o Facilitate effective daily stand-ups by addressing impediments, encouraging open communication, and providing guidance.
o Conduct Sprint Reviews to showcase completed features, celebrate wins-losses and gather feedback from stakeholders.
* User Experience (UX) and Design Collaboration
o Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers to create a user-centric design that aligns with the product vison and enhances the overall user experience.
o Participate in key discovery sessions, wireframe and prototype reviews, and plan for usability testing to make informed decisions about design modifications and enhancements.
* Cross-functional Leadership
o Lead cross-functional and global teams throughout the product development lifecycle (not limited to ideation, launch, and post-support).
o Bridge shared understanding of goals and priorities between technical and non-technical teams.
o Define the go-to-market strategy, create training materials, assist in roll-out activities, and drive prompt coordination with other teams to execute the tactics.
o Keep stakeholders, including senior management, informed about product progress, changes, challenges, and successes through regular updates.
* Data-Driven Decision Making
o Drive diligent competitive analysis, product benchmarking, and sensing of competitive offering.
o Monitor product performance, gather user feedback, and analyze data to identify areas for improvements and drive iterative enhancements.
o Analyze user retention and churn rates and implement strategies to improve retention.
o Escalate critical customer issues, monitor status, and communicate progress in systematic manner.
Who are we looking for?
We value diversity of thought and experiences, seeking candidates with:
* Bachelor’s degree in business, Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Industrial Design or STEM-related technical discipline.
* Minimum 5-7+ years of hands-on experience working on a product team with direct experience as a product manager, product owner, or equivalent related to SaaS software.
* Minimum 5-7+ years experience working in an Agile development environment:
* Demonstrated success in driving the entire product lifecycle from ideation to launch and ongoing optimization.
* In-depth knowledge of the SaaS model, including subscription-based business models, scalability, licensing models, sale of analytics, and cloud-based services.
* Solid technical background to effectively communicate with development teams.
* Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent highly desired.
* Experience with workflows in color management across one or more industries (textile, paint and coatings, plastics, automotive, print and packaging) highly desired.
* Six Sigma certification: Green Belt or Black Belt highly desired.

o Willingness to travel to customer sites, learn about customer journeys and communicate empathy through clear product requirements in prioritized backlogs.
* High Accountability and Ownership:
o Proven track record of successfully delivering technical products and solutions/services to customers.
o Strong leadership and ownership to deliver expected business outcomes.
* Business and Financial acumen
o Ability to build business cases to justify the need (or lack of) for product introduction, innovation, and enhancement.
o Comfortable with data-driven insights and working with financial models to show return-on-investment (ROI) on recommendations.
* Strong Communication and Analytical Skills:
o Ability to present ideas and get buy-in from peers and team members based on sound analysis or research.
o Speaks with confidence and brings new ideas to the table or agenda.
* Highly Collaborative and Independent:
o Plays dual support role of team player and go-to individual for initiatives related to product.
o Able to function independently and effectively with little oversight.
o Able to lift, carry, transport 15-20 lbs with relative ease.
o Able to travel both domestic and international (15 – 25% of time).
Location
* This role is based in Reggio Emilia – Italy or Basel - Switzerland. This is not a remote role.
* Role is hybrid and is in line with current company policy, but individual will need to be in office as needed to support key product initiatives or be close to products and engineering resources for collaboration.
