Make your mark for patients

To strengthen our Rare & Epilepsy department, we are looking for a skilled professional to fill the position of: Key Account Manager for Rare Neurology - South of Italy (Campania, Molise, Abruzzo, e Marche).

The Key Account Manager at UCB plays a crucial role in transforming the lives of those with rare diseases. Responsibilities include creating collaborative partnerships with healthcare professionals, implementing scientific research-based commercial strategies to ensure patient access to UCB products, mastering brand messaging, and leveraging digital technology for impactful customer experiences while adhering to ethical standards. These specialists are experts in regional patient journeys and strategically allocate time and budget to raise awareness, improve diagnosis, and promote appropriate use of UCB products.


What You Will Do

1. Operate with the highest ethics and integrity, serving rare disease patients and complying with local requirements.
2. Develop and implement strategic business and account plans tailored to your territory, incorporating insights into the network and regional patient journey, and identifying key stakeholders.
3. Deliver balanced information on new therapies in rare disease areas.
4. Master targeted disease states with a deep understanding of patient journeys, standards of care, treatment drivers, and clinical data on UCB products and competitors.
5. Map the assigned territory to identify and prioritize opportunities.
6. Continuously expand expertise on all treating and referring physicians, payers, hospital systems, pharmacies, labs, and other care continuum components.
7. Maintain strong partnerships within the regional payer landscape to ensure providers are informed about coverage and reimbursement, collaborating with the payer access team to maximize patient access and affordability.
8. Seek feedback, participate in relevant courses, and engage in on-the-job projects and training for continuous improvement.


Key Deliverables

1. Cross-functional partnership and aligned territory business and account plan involving regional patient journey/network, with quarterly deliverables based on understanding of gaps and opportunities.
2. Successful execution of marketing and sales strategies.
3. Meet monthly and quarterly sales targets.


Key Stakeholders

1. External: Targeted physicians, care team members (e.g., referring physicians, hospital stakeholders, pharmacists).
2. Internal: Rare Disease Organization Leadership, Ecosystem Lead, Marketing, Market Access, Patient Engagement, MSL, Medical Strategy Lead.


Pillars in Rare

1. Invest in the rare disease patient community by understanding the national and regional patient journey, recognizing barriers to care, diagnosis, and treatment, and collaborating to overcome these challenges.
2. Adopt innovative methods, including digital, to identify patients and facilitate earlier access to treatments.
3. Maintain a tactical, cross-functional approach to patient access based on continuous account analysis.
4. Deeply understand disease and clinical data of UCB & competitors, translating this into focused patient care and targeted treatments.


Qualifications and Skills Needed

* Bachelor's or Master's degree.
* Proficient in English (B2 level).
* Experience in sales and account management in the field.
* Proven experience in the rare disease area.
* Successful product launch experience, involving cross-functional collaboration.
* External impact focus, solution-oriented, and team player.
* Consistent high sales performance.
* Willingness to travel up to 80%, including overnight stays.
* Experience with various accounts along the patient journey.
* Detail-oriented in documentation and reporting.
* Scientifically driven, curious, and results-oriented.
* Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills.
* Open to learning and new challenges.
* Attentive listening skills.
