Core Job Functions and Responsibilities
* Assists in daily food preparation and mise en place under the supervision of Chef de Partie and Sous Chef
* Prepares ingredients, basic sauces, garnishes, and components according to recipes and hotel standards
* Ensures proper handling, storage, and labeling of all food items to maintain freshness and comply with hygiene and safety regulations
* Supports cooking and plating of dishes under supervision, ensuring quality, consistency, and correct presentation
* Maintains cleanliness and organization of assigned station and kitchen areas
* Operates kitchen equipment safely and reports any malfunction or maintenance issues
* Follows all food safety, sanitation, and HACCP procedures consistently
* Assists in inventory management, stock rotation, and proper storage of ingredients
* Supports the kitchen team during high-volume service, banquets, and special events
* Attends daily briefings, training sessions, and meetings as required
* Adheres to hotel policies regarding personal hygiene, grooming, punctuality, and professional conduct
* Works collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth kitchen operations and a positive working environment
* Performs any additional duties assigned by the Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, or Executive Chef to support kitchen operations
Core Competencies
* Fluent in English & Italian is a must. Must be able to communicate clearly and politely with colleagues and supervisors in a friendly, attentive and service‑oriented manner
* Proven work experience in a professional kitchen, ideally 1–2 years in a similar role
* Able to handle the pressure of a fast‑paced, high‑energy kitchen environment
* Strong hands‑on mentality and willingness to learn under supervision
* Must be flexible with scheduling according to business and operational needs
* Able to multitask and prioritize basic kitchen duties to support smooth service
* Maintains personal hygiene, grooming and professional appearance at all times
* Complies with hotel safety, sanitation and HACCP standards
* Maintains a warm, positive and cooperative demeanor with colleagues and guests
* Must hold the required authorization to work in a European country
