Responsibilities
Prepare ingredients for cooking: portioning, cutting, storing, washing and peeling fresh fruit and vegetables.
Weigh, measure and mix ingredients; prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and preparation checklists.
Prepare cold dishes and use ovens, stovetops, grills, microwaves and deep-fryers.
Verify that foods are cooked sufficiently and monitor food quality during preparation.
Set up and tidy the work station; serve food in appropriate portions and containers.
Clean and disinfect kitchen area, tables, utensils, knives and equipment.
Check and maintain correct temperatures of appliances and food.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures; report maintenance needs, incidents, injuries and unsafe conditions to the supervisor; complete required safety training and certifications.
Maintain tidy uniform and professional appearance; preserve confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
Communicate with colleagues using clear and professional language; develop and maintain positive working relationships; support the team in achieving common goals; listen and respond appropriately to colleague needs.
Stand, sit or walk for extended periods or throughout the shift.
Perform other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Related work experience: Minimum one year of experience in a similar role.
