The Category Manager is a key member of ghd marketing team and is responsible for supporting the company growth through the management, positioning, communication and commercialisation of the latest innovations divided by product categories.
Through detailed research and analysis of customer purchasing behaviours, the category manager will customise category offerings to meet customer demands, ensuring growth and alignment with the company’s broader marketing strategy.
Market Intelligence:
Category and competitor market shares (value and volume)
Competitor analysis including strategy, product range, pricing and how they link up to consumer trends
Lead the understanding, analysis, and documentation of competitor activity to ensure competitor understanding is front and central in our planning and activation
Pricing local analysis and proposals
Monitor and evaluate category performance, leveraging key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective measures
Recommend new product concepts based on category knowledge, market intelligence and input from markets
Analyse new product attributes & requirements, concept, claims, pricing and positioning in market to optimise product reach, sales & profit
Design an annual promotional plan for each category to deliver national marketing plan, sales objectives, customer and consumer needs
Ensure Category profitability, growth and alignment with the company’s boarder marketing strategy.
A strong affinity for Digital with full understanding of Social Media networks / channels and their triggers
Communication and Go to Market:
Work alongside the commercial department to assist in developing local promotional marketing plans, giving input and suggestions on how they fit with the local strategies and assets
Marketing qualification or equivalent
~Full proficiency in English
~ Full proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint and Excel
~ Digitally and social media savvy
~ Ability to think and react in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
~ Advanced experience with Excel, or other analytical/Business Intelligence tools
