This role, within the Global Connectivity Infrastructure Development (GCID) organization, is responsible for planning and building subsea backbone capacity in close coordination with other team members. The candidate should be self‑driven, have the ability to learn quickly and influence decision‑making across organizations. In this position, you will work closely with various Amazon business units to gather, refine and drive program goals to develop and deliver submarine cable projects. You will have the opportunity to implement new processes and procedures driving continuous improvement while interacting with a broad range of stakeholders across Amazon. /p pOur Technical Business Developers are responsible for sourcing and planning, but also assisting in delivery, and have ownership of our network acquisition, implementation strategy and the maintenance of relationships with strategic suppliers to expand and grow Amazon’s AWS footprint worldwide. You will work with internal and external stakeholders and partners, driving projects to meet our goals and timelines. You ensure that the delivery of the projects from concept to operation meets our high standards and specifications. When faced with an issue or delay, you will invent to solve for the roadblock, alerting our customers along the way. Communications are crisp, timely and always advise a path forward. You learn from each other, ensuring global consistency. /p h3About the team /h3 pThe Subsea Backbone team is responsible for all aspects of submarine network deployment, operation, upgrades and management within AWS. We own the technology roadmap and standards for submarine fibre optic cable, installation methods, procurement of the SLTE, RSPC and associated operational models and security postures.
